Trump Voters’ Regret

Too little too late

I am a little tired of the ubiquitous Ticktock videos of former Trump voters who now regret their vote, federal employees that were fired, low-income people who can still not afford eggs, old folks who are afraid to lose the social services they depend on, etc.

While I feel a degree of empathy, they should have known whom and what they voted for. Trump said that he had nothing to do with Project 25? Well, he is a known liar. Trump is cozying up to Putin? Well, he did that before. Trump is firing federal workers? He said he wanted to privatize large sections of the government.

All of this was in plain sight or at least predictable — if you just paid attention!

Perhaps this song by Bob Dylan sort of sums it up, Like a Rolling Stone. Interesting that a song from 1965 can still be so relevant. I think it expresses adequately how someone can be so clueless and fall of their high horse and is now at a loss about what to do.
