Storm

Out of the blue

This morning it was nice and sunny.

I had lunch and bought an Easter bunny,

some cards, and a gift for a friend.

I was cheerful and quite content.

The sky was blue and the air nice and warm,

no hint that there would be a storm.

All of a sudden darkness took hold.

I shivered since it turned so cold.

Lightening split the air amid a deafening sound.

Hard rain drops hit the ground.

Trees bent in the wind; umbrellas were ripped out of hands.

I reached my car, water dripping from my pants.

Time to go home; this weather did not please me.

Time for a warm towel, a book, and some tea.
