On a rainy day

When the day ends and evening slowly creeps in,

almost unnoticed,

thoughts settle down,

and tired bones yearn for some rest.

Ages ago, it seems, the sounds

of children echoed through the house,

laughter, shrieks, and the pitter patter of tiny feet.
