In comments on my articles on Medium, many people asked what publications are available and how to apply. I compiled a list here that may help.
Medium Help Center
The help center explains the basics and also provides a list of publications that are part of the boost nomination program.
Medium Staff
You can find updates here as well as some publications and their submission guidelines. Medium Staff has about 100 million followers, and it’s frequently updated.
Medium Editors
As most of you know, Medium editors are volunteer editors and not paid. They can publish all of their articles in the publication(s) they work for and also get a boost in readership because of their role. Other than that they get no perks.
They take their editing more or less seriously. I have seen some very poorly written articles published in some publications that made me wonder how they ever got published. By the way, I taught college level composition classes and know when a text is not edited.
Some editors do take their role more seriously, but you cannot expect the same “service” from them that you would if you hired someone…
