I met Jane Goodall after she wrote In the Shadow of Man. She talked with dismay about seeing her beloved chimps kill others in a blind frenzy. When I asked her if she ever say them act as aggressively as humans, she said that no animals were as aggressive as humans are. That is very true. She hasn't given up on the human species yet, however. I love "Roots and Shoots" and will definitely read her new book. We can surely use some hope. :-)
