Even though I have qualified for my teacher pension for a while, the age for unreduced Social Security (federal pension) is 67 now, and there is no difference here between men and women. At 62 there would be a 30% deduction for life. The break even point is 78, so when to take Social Security is a topic of fierce debate here. Free prescriptions? That's great. Anything medical is super expensive in the US.
